Court grants remand against Kamal again

A Narayanganj court yesterday again granted three days remand against Kamal Hossain, employee of key accused Nur Hossain in the seven murder case.

Senior Judicial Magistrate KM Mohiuddin passed the order after Investigation Officer Mamunur Rashid Mandal sought four days remand against Kamal.

Earlier on May 17, Kamal was sent to three days remand in the case. During the interrogation, Kamal claimed that Moshiur Rahman helped Nur to escape.

Acting on his information, police arrested Moshiur Rahman on Tuesday for allegedly helping Nur escape to India.

Moshiur told reporters on Wednesday that he had no contact with Nur for a year, adding that Kamal was solely responsible for helping Nur escape.

Moshiur, however, provided contradicting information to reporters regarding the place of his arrest. Police said Moshiur was arrested in Jessore, while he claimed to be arrested in Dhaka.

Sources concerned to the investigation of the case said Kamal was taken to remand again so that police could question both Kamal and Moshiur face to face.
