Tribunal issues arrest warrant for Jabbar

The International Crimes Tribunal 1 has issued an arrest warrant for the absconding former Jatiya Party lawmaker Mohammad Abdul Jabbar.

Tribunal 1, led by its chairman Enayetur Rahim, issued the warrant on Monday morning, a day after the prosecution submitted formal charges against Jabbar.

The Tribunal set June 2 for the date for delivering further orders after receiving development reports.

On Saturday, the prosecution pressed five war crimes charges against Jabbar accusing him of murder, genocide, forced conversion and looting during 1971.
