Benapole land port has been kept on a red alert to ensure that the prime suspect of the Narayanganj seven murder case, Nur Hossain, cannot slip out of the country, said sources in the administration.
As per the directive of the high authorities, BGB men have been kept on red alert at the Benapole frontier and adjacent areas to check for the prime accused of the recent Narayanganj seven murder, said 26 BGB Battalion Commanding Officer Lieutenant Colonel Matiur Rahman.
“BGB vigilance along the frontier has been raised,” he added.
Benapole Immigration Police Officer In-Charge Jahangir Alam told the Dhaka Tribune that after receiving a letter issued by the home ministry, passport holders have been put under additional checking at the land port.
Benapole port police station Officer In-Charge Apurba Hasan said that the port police has received a letter issued by the ministry of home in this regard.
Councillor Nazrul Islam, his four associates, senior lawyer Chandan Sarkar and his driver were abducted on April 27 and their bodies were recovered from the Shitalakshya River on April 29.
On April 28, Nazrul’s wife filed an abduction case against four people, naming Nur Hossain as the prime suspect.
