Police is to seek 10-day remand for two key members of banned militant outfit Ansarullah Bangla Team who were arrested for their suspected involvement with blogger Niladri Chatterjee murder case.
Detainee Saad Al Nahiyan and Masud Rana will be produced before the court around 2pm Friday.

Saad is the nephew of State Minister for Labour Mujibul Huq Chunnu while Masud is relative of Ariful Islam, a key accused in secular writer Oyasiqur Rahman Babu murder case.

They were arrested from different areas of the capital on Thursday.
Nahiyan is a charge-sheeted accused in a case filed over the attack on blogger Asif Mohiuddin in 2013. He was arrested on March 31, 2013, but got bail on September 25 last year. He also gave confessional statement in that case.
On the other hand, Masud was also made an accused in the case, but his name had been dropped from the charge sheet.
Niladri, also known as Niloy Neel on blogging platforms and Facebook, was hacked to death by four unidentified assailants at his Goran residence in Dhaka on August 7.

Recently he was trying to leave the country out of fear as three secularist activists had been killed by the militants since February. He also received threats several times.
A group named Ansar Al Islam, believed to be banned militant group Ansarullah Bangla Team, has claimed responsibility for the murder. In an email sent to the media in the afternoon, they said that Niloy had been killed for his blasphemous activities, and warned others of similar consequences for demeaning the Almighty and the Prophet.
