Five people died from dengue across the country in the 24 hours from 8am Wednesday to 8am Thursday, while 1,935 new patients were hospitalized during the period.
The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) disclosed the figures in a bulletin published on Thursday.
Of the newly hospitalized patients, 790 were from Dhaka division, 93 from Mymensingh division, 280 from Chittagong division, 292 from Khulna division, 206 from Rajshahi division, 64 from Rangpur division, 195 from Barisal division and 15 from Sylhet division.
The bulletin said 94,151 dengue patients had been hospitalized across the country since the beginning of the year.
Of them, 88,208 patients have been discharged from hospitals, while 5,649 are currently receiving treatment.
A total of 294 people have died from dengue during the period.
