One dies, 153 hospitalised with dengue in 24 hours

Bangladesh recorded one more dengue-related death and 153 new hospitalisations in the 24 hours until 8:00 am on Friday, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

In its daily dengue update, the DGHS said 76 of the newly admitted patients were from Dhaka Division, 69 from Chittagong Division, and four each from Khulna and Barisal divisions. No new hospital admissions were reported from the country's remaining divisions.

Since the beginning of the year, 15,310 people have been hospitalised with dengue across the country, the DGHS said.

Of them, 14,089 have recovered and been discharged, while 1,167 patients are currently undergoing treatment at hospitals nationwide.

The country's dengue death toll has risen to 54 so far this year, the DGHS added.
