Bangladesh has reported no deaths from the coronavirus on Tuesday, with 50 new cases logged in the 24 hours to 8am.
According to latest figures released by the health directorate, the overall caseload in the country now stands at 1,952,412 while fatalities at 29,126.
A total of 5,545 samples were tested across the country, for a positivity rate of 0.9%.
Another 331 people recovered from Covid-19 across the country taking the total recovery to 1,891,528.
The latest figures put the recovery rate at 96.88% and the mortality rate at 1.49%.
Globally, the overall number of coronavirus cases is now approaching 505 million amid a rise in new infections in parts of the world.
As of Tuesday morning, the total case count mounted to 504,990,510 while the death toll from the virus reached 6,199,732, according to a tally by the Johns Hopkins University.
The US has recorded 80,686,315 cases so far and 988,898 people have died from the virus in the country, the university data shows.
India's Covid-19 tally rose to 43,045,421 on Monday as 1,141 new cases were registered in 24 hours across the country, showed the federal health ministry's data.
Besides, 245 deaths due to the pandemic since Saturday morning took the death toll to 521,996.
Meanwhile, Shanghai authorities on Tuesday reported seven more Covid-19 linked deaths, taking the fatalities to 10 in the latest outbreak in China.
Infections have been reported in more than 210 countries and territories since the first cases were identified in China in December 2019.
