Prime minister’s special assistant, and Awami League Office Secretary, Barrister Biplab Barua and his family have recovered from Covid-19.
The prime minister’s special aide confirmed his recovery to Dhaka Tribune on Thursday morning.
Biplab said that he went into home isolation when his driver tested positive for Covid-19 on June 16. On June 20, he, along with six of his family members, tested positive for Covid-19 as well.
“After being infected, me and my family received treatment while staying in home isolation. People may have panicked upon hearing the news; that is why I chose not to spread the message too broadly. However, my well-wishers got my updates via mobile phone regularly,” Biplab said.
“After passing 19 days at home, we got tested for a second time and the results came back negative from the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University Hospital,” he added.
The AL office secretary also said that he is currently doing party work from home, and that he will be physically available in the party office within a few days.
