JCI Dhaka Young, one of the most vibrant chapters of JCI Bangladesh (a voluntary non-profit global youth organization), is continuing their efforts to help the poor people who have been hit hard by the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
As part of their fight against Covid-19 in the country, JCI Dhaka Young launched and got involved in various initiatives to extend support to the affected ones braving various challenges, a press statement said.
In its latest initiative, the voluntary organization distributed foodstuffs among the families of 112 day labourers in Chittagong on May 5 with the help of police.
The additional superintendent of police in Chittagong district, by a letter of appreciation, appraised and expressed their gratitude to the organization for standing by the side of marginalized people in the crisis situation.

Earlier, JCI Dhaka Young joined hands with Dhaka Tribune in their Feed The Future initiative. The organization distributed relief packages to 225 needy families in Rayer Bazar in Dhaka on April 23 with the help of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB).
Besides, on March 29, the organization with support from distribution partner OBHIZATRIK Foundation distributed foodstuffs to families of 100 rickshaw-pullers in the Mirpur Duaripara slum of the capital.
In its initial effort, JCI Dhaka Young together with JCI Dhaka Achievers organized a webinar and advocacy workshop -- "A BATTLE TO FIGHT BACK" -- on March 21 for raising awareness on Covid-19 outbreak and general combat guidelines.
Following that, with the unanimous support from all the members, the voluntary organization launched the project "Manush Manusher Jonno" on March 24 to help the daily wage earners who were the most affected by the outbreak of the deadly coronavirus. Sanzida Sharmine, local vice president of JCI Dhaka Young, was the project lead.
The organization, moreover, has urged all capable people to come forward for the support of the people in need amid the ongoing crisis.
