Veteran historian Prof Muntasir Mamun, who was undergoing treatment at Mugda Medical College and Hospital for coronavirus infection, has recovered and returned home safely on Monday.
Dr Muntasir, a professor (Bangabandhu Chair) at the History Department of Dhaka University, himself confirmed the matter, reports UNB.
“I have returned home and now I’m in sound condition,” he said.
On May 4, the professor tested positive for Covid-19 after being admitted to Mugda Medical College and Hospital with respiratory problems.
Meanwhile, country’s coronavirus cases soared to 23,870 with the detection of 1,602 new patients in the last 24 hours till Monday morning while 21 more died raising the total death toll to 349. As many as 4,585 people in the country have recovered from the disease.
