A total of six present and retired members of the country’s Armed Forces have so far died from the deadly coronavirus infection.
Of them, four were retired and in their 70s and two were currently serving. All of them had other health complications besides Covid-19.
They all were undergoing treatment at the Combined Military Hospital (CMH).
A press release was issued by the Inter Service Public Relations Directorate (ISPR) in this regard on Monday.
According to the release, till now a total of 345 people – including those who have retired, who are currently in service, and their relatives – have been admitted to the CMH for coronavirus.
Till now 88 of them have returned home after recovery.
The press release also said the Bangladesh Army had taken adequate measures across the country to provide medical treatment to its corona infected members amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
As of Monday, Bangladesh confirmed 15,692 coronavirus cases with the death toll rising to 239 after 11 new fatalities were reported.
Till now the fast-spreading coronavirus has claimed more than 284,000 lives and infected more than 4,201,000 people globally, according to Worldometer.
As many as 1,502,000 people have recovered from Covid-19, which has spread to 210 countries and territories across the world.
