An Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO)--who was tested positive for coronavirus on April 29-- had turned out to be negative for the virus when another test was done on the same day.
The UNO, Baishakhi Badua's sample was sent to Dhaka Shishu Hospital and it came out positive on April 29, said the UNO office.
However, as she was not showing any coronavirus like symptoms, we sent her samples IEDCR on the same day and that came out on Wednesday as negative, said Dr SM Shoaib Ahmed, health officer of Hajjiganj upazila.
"As the reports dismiss each other we sent her samples to Dhaka for a final check. Until the test comes back negative she will stay isolated in home-quarantine," said Civil Surgeon Dr Shakhawat Ullah.
He further said that it is possible to find an infected patient negative after three days. "We are hopeful that her test results would come out negative, as its already been 14 days," he added.
The suspected patient, UNO Baishakhi said: "As I am not suffering from any coronavirus like symptoms, I am confident that I am not affected by the virus. "
