5 Chinese nationals return to Dhaka, sent to home quarantine

Five Chinese nationals have been sent to home quarantine for 14 days after returning from China.

A special flight carrying the Chinese nationals landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka at around 1:45pm on Thursday, a top official at the airport said.

The flight took off from Kunming Changshui International Airport in China’s Yunnan province, the official added.

Of the five Chinese citizens, three have official passports, and the other two have ordinary passports.

All of them are involved with the Padma Bridge project, the official said.

Speaking to Dhaka Tribune, airport health officer Dr Shahriar Sajjad said the Chinese nationals had gone through thermal scanning at airport.

“They arrived with medical certificates saying they are Covid-19 negative. After screening, they were sent to home quarantine from the airport,” he added.
