The Election Commission (EC) will hold a dialogue with 81 domestic election observer organizations on Tuesday in preparation for the 13th parliamentary elections.
On Sunday, Md Ashadul Haque, assistant director of the EC’s Public Relations Branch, provided this information.
Ashadul Haque said that the dialogue will take place in the conference room of the Election Commission Bhaban in Agargaon, Dhaka, under the chairmanship of Chief Election Commissioner AMM Nasir Uddin.
He added that the EC has invited 81 domestic election observer organizations to the dialogue, which is scheduled for Tuesday.
The dialogue will be conducted in two sessions, morning and afternoon.
In the morning session, from 10:30am to 12:30pm, the EC will meet with 40 organizations. In the afternoon session, from 2pm to 4pm, the EC will meet with the remaining 41 organizations.
Earlier, as part of its ongoing outreach, the EC held dialogues with at least 47 registered political parties on November 13, 16, 17, and 19.
The commission has also exchanged views with media personalities, election experts, women leaders, academicians, and civil society representatives.
The suggestions and proposals gathered from these consultations have contributed significantly to finalizing the election code of conduct.
The commission believes that these dialogues with political parties will make the next national parliamentary elections more acceptable and participatory.
