The Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (Eenec) has been newly constituted with Dr Muhammad Yunus as chairperson, and Saleh Uddin Ahmed, adviser to the Ministry of Finance and Commerce, as vice chairperson.
This reorganization was officially announced in the gazette published on Wednesday.
The committee's members include Wahid Uddin Mahmud, adviser for Planning and Education, Dr Asif Nazrul, adviser for Law, Expatriate Welfare, and Culture, Hasan Arif, adviser for Local Government, Lt Gen Jahangir Chowdhury (Retd), adviser for Home Affairs and Agriculture, Adilur Rahman Khan, adviser for Industry and Housing, Ali Imam Majumdar, adviser attached to the Chief Adviser’s Office, Muhammad Fouzul Kabir Khan, adviser for Power, Bridges, and Railways, Syeda Rizwana Hasan, adviser for Environment, Forests, Climate Change, and Water Resources, Md Nahid Islam, adviser for ICT and Information, and Asif Mahmud Sajeeb Bhuiyan, adviser for Youth and Employment.
Additionally, advisors from the relevant ministries will also be part of the Ecnec.
