The government is forming a commission to update the laws of local government bodies, Election Commission Senior Secretary Md Alamgir has said.
He made the remark while addressing reporters about the draft Local Government Election Act-2020 after a meeting of the commission on Monday.
The EC secretary said: “We have spoken with the secretary of the Local Government Ministry and they will also form a commission to update their laws. If that commission is formed, then maybe the issues of this amendment will also be discussed in that commission. There will be proposals for necessary amendments.”
