A total of 4,457 Hajj pilgrims have reached Saudi Arabia so far, including 1,246 under government management and 3,211 under private arrangements.
According to the Hajj bulletin, these pilgrims reached Saudi Arabia as of Saturday.
A total of 11 flights have been operated so far—six by Biman Bangladesh Airlines, four by Saudi Airlines, and one by Flynas. Biman transported 2,477 pilgrims, Saudi Airlines carried 1,557, and Flynas transported 423 pilgrims.
The Hajj flight operations for this year were officially inaugurated by Prime Minister Tarique Rahman at around 11:30pm on Friday at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.
This year, a total of 78,500 pilgrims from Bangladesh are expected to perform Hajj—4,565 under government management and 73,935 under private arrangements.
A total of 660 agencies are involved in managing Hajj under private arrangements, including 30 lead agencies and 630 coordinating agencies.
So far, visas have been issued for 78,139 pilgrims. The total number of flights to Saudi Arabia includes 100 by Biman Bangladesh Airlines, 75 by Saudi Airlines, and 30 by Flynas.
Subject to moon sighting, the holy Hajj is expected to be held on May 26 in Saudi Arabia.
