Special Assistant to the Chief Adviser Dr Anisuzzaman Chowdhury on Wednesday highlighted the multifaceted relationship between Bangladesh and South Korea, emphasizing the importance of sustained bilateral cooperation and robust diplomatic engagement.
The Bangladesh Institute of International and Strategic Studies (BIISS) organized a program as part of its Country Lecture Series (CLS), titled “Bangladesh–South Korea Relations: Pathways for Future Cooperation,” held at its auditorium.
Bangladesh Ambassador to South Korea Park Young-sik delivered a speech as the distinguished guest speaker.
In his lecture, the ambassador highlighted the current state of Bangladesh–South Korea relations and discussed potential future trajectories.
He noted that Korea and Bangladesh share a strong economic partnership that goes beyond development assistance, underpinned by vibrant bilateral trade and significant foreign direct investment.
The ambassador also emphasized the shared values between the two nations, which are based on mutual trust and a commitment to global peace.
Ambassador AFM Gosal Azam Sarker, chairman of BIISS, chaired the event, while Major General Iftekhar Anis, director general of BIISS, delivered the welcome remarks.
Dr Mahfuz Kabir, research director at BIISS, gave a presentation on “Dimensions of Bangladesh–South Korea Relations.”
Senior officials from various ministries, relevant government organizations, representatives from different think tanks, academicians, business leaders, serving and retired military officials, media professionals, and university students participated in the lecture and actively shared their opinions, comments, suggestions, and observations during the open discussion session.
