Ambassador of Republic of Kosovo in Dhaka Guner Ureya on Wednesday lauded Bangladesh's competence in tackling the Covid-19 pandemic.
Noting that most of his career in Bangladesh was spent amid the Covid-19 pandemic, he said: "Bangladesh has dealt with the crisis very efficiently."
He made the remarks while paying a farewell call on the Jatiya Sangsad (JS) Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury at the speaker's office here, a press release said.
During the meeting, the envoy and the speaker discussed various issues of mutual interest, including parliamentary alliance group, bilateral trade, cultural exchange, inter-parliamentary cooperation, independence of Kosovo and relations of Kosovo with neighboring countries, the release added.
Speaker Shirin Sharmin said that Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman had simultaneously started reconstruction of the war-torn independent Bangladesh and communications to get international recognition of his country.
She said like Kosovo, Bangladesh also faced various challenges after the country's independence.
The speaker also said the parliamentary alliance group and inter-parliamentary cooperation can strengthen Bangladesh-Kosovo friendly relations.
She hoped that trade relations, export products and cultural exchanges between the two countries will increase in the coming days.
