Bangladesh mission in Kuala Lumpur urges not to spread false info on passport services

The Bangladesh High Commission in Kuala Lumpur has urged all concerned not to spread misinformation on its passport services, as it leads to confusion among Bangladeshi expatriates in Malaysia.

The High Commission has been distributing passports through 36 post offices since April 2021 to ensure easy passport services for expatriates living in different parts of Malaysia during the Covid-19 lockdown, said a press release on Sunday.

Since the beginning of 2021, at least 200,000 passports have been delivered to the expatriates from the Bangladesh High Commission in Kuala Lumpur. A significant number of the passports were distributed by post.

Expatriates may make online appointments to receive the passport through their nearest post office even in the midst of lockdowns across Malaysia.

Almost all the passports under the High Commission were distributed, but a number of passports are still in the pipeline due to server complexities of the Passport Department in Dhaka.

The officials concerned have already informed everyone from Dhaka that the complication has been removed and the rest of the passports will be distributed as soon as possible.

On the other hand, the Malaysian government has extended the recalibration program for the regularization of irregular workers until December 31, 2021.
