Sheikh Hasina calls on Nepal PM to discuss US-Bangla crash

PM Hasina called Nepal Prime Minister Khadga Prasad Oli at 6:50pm Monday Bangladesh time and offered to extend all available assistance. The Nepal PM told PM Hasina he immediately went to the spot and issued instructions to combat the emergency. Prime Minister Hasina said she will despatch teams to Nepal help with the rescue once Trivuban International Airport reopens.

A US-Bangla Airlines plane flying from Dhaka to Kathmandu has crashed while landing at Tribhuvan International Airport on Monday, killing at least 50 people, an army spokesman told Reuters. As many as 71 persons, including four crew members, were on-board the aircraft, of which 37 were Bangladeshis, 32 were Nepalis, one Chinese and one Maldivian nationals.
