Bangladesh delegation starts Kosovo, Albania tours

State Minister for Foreign Affairs Md Shahriar Alam is leading a delegation comprising senior officials from his ministry, to Kosovo and Albania on a five-day official visit that started on Friday. Invited by the foreign minister of Kosovo marking the 10th anniversary of the declaration of the country’s independence, Shahriar is scheduled to attend the solemn ceremony to be held in this regard in Pristina on Sunday, reports UNB. During the visit, the junior minister will pay a courtesy call on Kosovo President Hashim Thaçi, to discuss the ways to bolster meaningful and well-founded bilateral ties between the two countries after the establishment of diplomatic relations. Meanwhile, his visit to Albania will see a bilateral meeting with the country’s Deputy Foreign Minister Etjen Xhafaj, when various aspects of Bangladesh-Albania bilateral relations and the ways to further strengthen it will be discussed. Views on significant regional and global issues of mutual interest will also be on the agenda, according to Bangladesh foreign ministry. Moreover, the Bangladesh delegation will reiterate its invitation to its Albanian counterpart for the forthcoming OIC-CFM to be hosted by Bangladesh in May.
