NCC presents Phoenix Summit 2025, a landmark cybersecurity event, concluded on May 24 after three impactful days of knowledge sharing, strategic discussions, and collaboration.
The summit brought together leading experts, policymakers, and industry professionals, marking a significant step in Bangladesh's ongoing efforts to elevate, transform, and ascend in cybersecurity and fortify the nation's digital defenses.
The opening ceremony was graced with the presence of SHOJI Akihiro (Mr), JICA Expert Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Bangladesh, & M Khurshed Alam, Additional Managing Director, NCC Bank PLC.
The three days of summit were preceded by three days of workshops, where 50 trainees received professional training from APNIC trainers who came in from UK, Australia, & Hong Kong. The workshops went in depth into the world of cyber, focusing more on labs than theory.
As Bangladesh rapidly advances its Smart Bangladesh vision, the summit addressed the imperative of robust cybersecurity. The nation's past experiences with cyber threats, including major financial heists, have highlighted the undeniable need for resilient infrastructure, advanced expertise, and a culture of digital vigilance.
The Phoenix Summit Dhaka 2025 served as a powerful platform to tackle these challenges head-on.
Under the theme "Experience the New Dimension. Elevate. Transform. Ascend," the summit fostered a collaborative environment to build a more secure digital ecosystem for Bangladesh.
The three-day agenda covered a wide spectrum of cybersecurity topics, including defensive strategies (Blue Team Day), enterprise governance and risk management (Enterprise Day), and offensive security tactics and ethical hacking (Red Team Day).
Keynotes from experts such as B M Zahid ul Haque, a Global Cybersecurity Strategist, and Dr Harvey Rubin, Professor of University of Pennsylvania, along with panel discussions and technical talks, addressed areas like advanced threat detection, AI in cybersecurity, mobile and data privacy, talent development, and sophisticated attack mitigation.
Throughout the three days, 45 speakers were present speaking about more than 25 topics, coming in from 10 different countries. Over 3500 people attended the summit physically throughout the weekend.

The summit also included a CTF (Capture the Flag) competition where Federal_Bonk_Investigations became the Champion. The CTF has 718 participants and 273 teams, which was entirely hosted by Red Team Village, the only one of it’s kind in South Asia.
The closing ceremony was concluded with the presence of Jia Rong Low - Director General Apnic, Australia, Adli Wahid - Apnic, Australia, Major General Md. Emdad Ul Bari - OSP, NDC, PSC, TE (Retd.) Chairman, BTRC, Tarek Siddiki - (PC Co-Chair) Ex-Cobalt, Bangladesh.

At the Summit, RUET Cyber Security Club Received the best Cybersecurity Club Award in Bangladesh, and Tasnima Akter Anika received the ‘Women in Cybersecurity’ award.
