Candidates for the upcoming 12th parliamentary election will not be allowed to arrange any means of transportation to take voters to the polling centres on January 7.
This type of action will be considered as violating code of conduct, according to the Election Commission.
The instruction was given in a notice signed by Atiar Rahman, deputy secretary of the election management department of the commission.
The information was revealed by EC sources on Saturday.
The notice said that the candidates should be warned about the dos and don'ts so that their election agents, polling agents and supporters cannot arrange any kind of vehicles to take the voters to the polling stations, or follow the code of conduct. Otherwise, necessary action will be taken for violating the code of conduct.
The voting for 12th national parliamentary elections will be held on January 7.
