Arafat: Poll boycotters will get befitting reply through spontaneous participation

Mohammad A Arafat, member of parliament (MP) for the Dhaka-17 constituency, on Tuesday said people who boycotted the polls will be answered through revolution.

“We need a free, fair and peaceful election. You have to be tolerant and encourage everyone to come to the polling centers. Chaos should be completely avoided. The election will be acceptable only if a fair environment is ensured,” he said while campaigning in North and South Lalasarai areas at 11am. ‘’

He added that those who do not believe in Bangladesh do not need to contest elections.

“BNP is killing people through arson. People's support cannot be obtained by burning public property and public transport. On the other hand, the Awami League has established the right to vote and food for the people of Bangladesh through movement and struggle,” he added.

The 12th parliamentary polls is scheduled to be held on January 7.
