The Election Commission on Tuesday said it would the by-election to the Patuakhali-1 constituency on November 26.
Election Commission Secretary Md Jahangir Alam made the announcement after a meeting of the commissioners.
Candidates will be able to submit their nomination papers till November 1, while the last date to withdraw them is November 9.
The constituency was declared vacant on Sunday following the death of lawmaker Shahjahan Miah a day earlier.
