National polls: Election Commission to train officials from Sunday

The training of officials of different levels of field administration will begin on Sunday ahead of the 12th parliamentary elections.

On this day, the training of 100 Upazila Nirbahi Officers (UNOs) will begin in four batches.

Each batch will undergo a two-day training session at the Election Training Institute (ETI) at Agargaon in Dhaka.

The Election Commission is also set to train deputy commissioners, DIGs, police commissioners, regional election officers, and district and upazila election officers in phases.

The training session will continue till November 2.

Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Kazi Habibul Awal will inaugurate the program.

This marks the first time the Election Commission is organizing such a program ahead of the national parliamentary elections.

The primary goal of this training initiative is to prepare the current administration to effectively manage the national polls, scheduled for January next year.

The Election Commission is also set to hold a meeting with its officials on October 7. Regional and district election officials have been asked to attend the meeting.
