7 BCC mayor candidates cast votes at their own centres

All seven mayoral candidates for the Barihal City Corporation (BCC) have cast their votes by electric voting machines (EVMs) at their respective polling centres on Monday morning.

The voting started at 126 polling centres under 30 wards at 8am and will be continued till 4pm.

According to the sources in the returning officer's office, Awami League-backed mayor candidate bul Khair Abdullah (Khokon Serniabat) has cast his vote at the Government Barisal College centre at Abdur Rab Sherniabat Road in the city. 

After casting his vote, the Awami League candidate Khokon Sherniabat said that the Election Commission along with the local administration would be able to conduct a free, fair and acceptable election in Barisal. 

Meanwhile, Islami Andolan Bangladesh candidate (hand fan) Mufti Syed Mohammad Faizul Karim has cast his vote at Abdur Rab Saherniabat High School centre near Rupatoli Housing under ward number 24. 

He said that he will win the election if such a free and fair environment is prevails till the end.

Jatiya Party-backed mayor candidate Engineer Iqbal Hossain Taposh (Plough) has cast his vote at Syed Abdul Mannan DDF Alim Madrasha centre in the city's Gorosthan Road. 

Zaker Party candidate (Rose) Md Mizanur Rahman cast his vote at Chhahutpur High school centre under ward number 28 of the city corporation.

Besides, the independent mayor candidate (table clock) Md Kamrul Hassan Rupon has cast his vote at Alekanda Government Primary School centre at Kalu Shah Road.

The other independent mayor candidate (deer) Md Ali Hossain Hawlader cast his vote at Chhahutpur Iskandar Sharif Government Primary School centre under ward number 28. 

Besides, another independent mayor candidate Journalist Asaduzzaman (Elephant) has cast his vote at Barisal City College centre on Bir Shrestha Captain Mohiuddin Jahangir Road.
