The Awami League candidate Bir Bahadur Ushwe Sing has won in Bandarban constituency, based on the unofficial results from all 176 polling centres.
The six-time MP received 142,223 votes with his electoral symbol boat, retaining his seat in the parliament, according to the unofficial results announced by the returning officer on Sunday evening.
His rival candidate from BNP, Saching Pru Jerry managed to bag 58,047 with his sheaf of paddy symbol.
Islami Andolan Bangladesh candidate Md Shawkatul Islam also got 1,003 votes with his hand fan symbol.
Despite extreme cold weather, 246,754 voters had showed up to exercise their franchise between 8am and 4pm during Sunday’s 11th general election.
