Dhaka Education Board recorded the highest pass rate among all education boards in this year’s SSC and equivalent examinations, with 71.63% of students passing.
The Bangladesh Madrasa Education Board recorded the lowest pass rate, at 55.49% in the Dakhil examinations, according to an analysis of the 2026 SSC and equivalent results published on Monday.
Education Minister Dr ANM Ehsanul Hoque Milon formally inaugurated the publication of the results at the Education Ministry’s conference room at 10am. The chairmen of all education boards handed over the results to the minister at the event.
Among the nine general education boards, the average pass rate stood at 64.05%, down from 68.04% last year, a decline of 3.99 percentage points.
After Dhaka, the Jessore Education Board recorded the second-highest pass rate at 66.27%, followed by Comilla Board at 65.42%.
The pass rate was 63.67% in Rajshahi, 60.35% in Barisal, 59.48% in Chittagong, 58.33% in Sylhet and 58.05% in Dinajpur.
Mymensingh recorded the lowest pass rate among the nine general boards, at 57.39%.
Outside the general education boards, the Madrasa Education Board recorded a 55.49% pass rate in Dakhil, while the Technical Education Board recorded 58.20% in the SSC (Vocational) and Dakhil (Vocational) examinations.
The gap between the highest pass rate, recorded by Dhaka Board, and the lowest, recorded by the Madrasa Board, was 16.14 percentage points.
A total of 1,829,485 students sat for the examinations this year, with 1,138,897 passing. A total of 116,676 students secured GPA-5, down from 139,032 last year — a decline of 22,356.
