The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education has issued urgent instructions to ensure the security of question papers ahead of the 2025 Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations.
On Sunday, two official directives signed by Exam Controller Professor SM Kamal Uddin Hayder were issued.
In the orders, centre secretaries were instructed to ensure the security of question papers, timely delivery, and verification of the correct set.
It was further stated that the question papers for the 2025 HSC examinations sent from the Bangladesh Government Press must be verified in line with the specified statement. If there is any shortage or excess in the sets, the board must be informed via email by Thursday.
Another official order mentioned that the written answer scripts of the 2025 HSC examinations must be delivered in person to the exam controller’s office on the same day of the exam by the acting officer-in-charge of the centre or an authorized teacher under police protection.
If in-person delivery is not possible, the answer scripts must be dispatched via railway parcel on the same day, with the time of dispatch recorded.
If neither hand delivery nor railway parcel delivery is feasible on the exam day, the answer scripts must be sealed in sacks, packets, or boxes, with the time noted, and stored securely at the treasury or police station's custody.
Later, the sealed materials must be retrieved—without breaking the seal—and delivered under police escort to the exam controller’s office either by the officer-in-charge or an authorized teacher, along with a certificate from the treasury or police station stating the handover details.
Under no circumstances should the written answer scripts be sent by any other means.
Notably, the 2025 HSC and equivalent exams are scheduled to begin on 26 June.
The theoretical exams will continue until August 10, while practical exams will be held from August 11 to 24.
