The Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations for 2025 will begin on June 26.
The theoretical exams will continue until August 10, while the practical exams will start on August 11 and end on August 21, according to the revised schedule published by the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education on Wednesday.
Instructions for examinees
Candidates must take their seats in the examination hall at least 30 minutes before the exam begins. The multiple-choice questions (MCQ) section will be held first, followed by the creative/written (theoretical) section.
For exams with a 30-mark MCQ section, the duration will be 30 minutes, while the 70-mark creative section will last 2 hours and 30 minutes.
For exams that include practical components, the 25-mark MCQ section will last 25 minutes, and the 50-mark creative section will last 2 hours and 35 minutes.
The exams will continue without breaks until the time specified in the question paper. There will be no gap between the MCQ and creative sections.
For the morning session, which starts at 10am, blank answer sheets and MCQ OMR sheets will be distributed at 9:30am. The MCQ question paper will be distributed at 10am.
The MCQ answer sheets will be collected, and the creative question papers will be distributed at 10:30am. For 25-mark MCQ exams, this will be done at 10:25am.
For the afternoon session, which will start at 2pm, blank answer sheets and MCQ OMR sheets will be distributed at 1:30pm. The MCQ question paper will be distributed at 2pm.
The MCQ answer sheets will be collected, and the creative question papers will be distributed at 2:30pm. For 25-mark MCQ exams, this will be done at 2:25pm.
Candidates must pass separately in the theoretical, MCQ, and practical sections where applicable.
They may use general scientific calculators, but programming calculators will not be allowed.
Only the in charge of the examination centre is permitted to use a mobile phone. No examinee will be allowed to bring a mobile phone into the exam centre.
