A total of 20 students from the University of Asia Pacific (UAP) for the Fall 2022 and Spring 2023 semesters have been awarded the ICPC-Jamilur Reza Choudhury Scholarship in recognition of their exceptional merit.
The award ceremony was organized by the UAP Programming Contest Club and took place on Sunday at the UAP Auditorium.
The scholarship is awarded each semester to 10 students, with 6 recipients from the senior category and 4 from the junior category.
The awards were presented by notable figures including Architect Mahbuba Haque, chairperson of the UAP Board of Trustees (BOT), Dr M Alauddin, BOT Member, Monzoor Ahmed Chowdhury, BOT Member, and Prof Dr Qumrul Ahsan, vice chancellor of UAP.
Architect Mahbuba Haque praised the students for their achievements and highlighted the importance of honoring the legacy of Professor Jamilur Reza Choudhury.
“We are here to celebrate the outstanding accomplishments of our talented students and to pay tribute to Professor Choudhury, whose contributions to academia and computer science continue to inspire us,” she said.
Prof Dr Qumrul Ahsan emphasized the role of such awards in motivating future leaders in programming and computer science. “This event brings us together to recognize and encourage the emerging talents in our field,” he said.
