A group of 10 students from Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB) have secured positions in the esteemed Millennium Fellowship program, a semester-long leadership accelerator created through a partnership between the United Nations Academic Impact and the Millennium Campus Network (MCN).
The selected students will focus on various critical areas, including public health, environmental sustainability, and youth development.
This year, the Millennium Fellowship received over 52,000 applications from more than 6,000 campuses across 170 countries.
Out of these, only 4,000 students from 280 campuses—representing just 5% of global applicants—were chosen.
The IUB students underwent a demanding selection process, which included multiple evaluation rounds and interviews.
Over the next four months, they will engage in projects addressing challenges in sectors such as public health, environmental sustainability, social enterprise, and youth development.
As part of the program, fellows are required to participate in six fellowship sessions and one webinar, submit a story of impact, and complete entrance and exit surveys.
The program will culminate in a virtual graduation ceremony scheduled for November 2024.

The Millennium Fellowship provides participants with a unique opportunity for global networking, access to invaluable training, and the chance to showcase their projects on an international stage.
By the end of the program, the IUB fellows will submit final reports detailing the impact of their initiatives.
