JnU teachers to donate a day's salary to flood victims

Teachers at Jagannath University (JnU) have decided to donate one day's salary to aid flood victims.

This decision was made during an emergency general meeting of the Jagannath University Teachers' Association (JNUTA) on Friday.

The distribution of aid will be coordinated with teachers from the impacted regions to ensure effective use of the funds.

During the meeting, some teachers proposed that the funds also be directed towards comprehensive housing programs and student welfare initiatives in the affected districts to maximize the benefits for the victims.

Dr Shaikh Masrick Hasan, general secretary of the JnU Teachers' Association, said: "As per our decision, we will donate one day's salary to assist the flood victims. Of this, 50% will be allocated to the Chief Adviser's Relief Fund."

Besides, the remaining 50% will be used to assist people in the flood-affected areas of south-eastern Bangladesh.

Previously, the teachers' associations at Dhaka University and Khulna University had also announced that they would donate one day's salary to support those affected by the floods.
