Primary schools not reopening right away

Primary education activities will not resume until the situation stabilizes, Bidhan Ranjan Roy Poddar, advisor for the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education, has said.

Parents would not be inclined to send their children to school unless overall instability decreased, the advisor said during a meeting at the Secretariat, adding that the interim government would make a decision on reopening schools after consulting with all stakeholders.

Seeking support from the media, he said: "We will reflect the people's aspirations through our work. Primary education is the foundation of any country. At this moment, we must improve the quality of education so that students can develop into good citizens."
