The vice chancellors (VCs) of the country’s public universities have announced the probable dates for admission tests for the academic year 2020-21.
The decision was taken at a virtual meeting of the Bangladesh Bishwabidyalaya Parishad – an association of public university VCs – on Wednesday, according to the body’s President and Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology (Cuet) VC Prof Md Rafiqul Alam.
Sources present at the meeting said that three exam dates were announced for the admission tests under the cluster system at 20 general, science and technology universities. The dates are: June 19 for humanities students, June 26 for commerce students and July 3 or July 10 for science students.
Meanwhile, the seven public agricultural universities have set their uniform admission test schedule for May 29.

Besides, the admission test at Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (Buet) will be held June 10 while Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology (Ruet), Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology (Cuet) and Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (Kuet) will hold their admission tests simultaneously on June 12.
Jahangirnagar University (JU) will hold its admission tests from June 6 to 18 and Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Aviation and Aerospace University (BSMRAAU) on June 27. Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Maritime University (BSMRMU) will hold its tests on June 4 and 5.

Bangladesh University of Textiles (BUTEX) will hold its admission tests on 18 June and tests at the Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP) will take place on February 26 and 27.
Meanwhile, tests for admission to medical colleges will be held on April 2, with exams for dental tests scheduled for April 30 after a delay caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.
However, the dates for admission tests of Rajshahi and Chittagong universities are yet to be fixed.
