Inqilab Mancha begins ‘March for Justice’ from Shahbagh

Inqilab Mancha on Tuesday began its “March for Justice” from Shahbagh, demanding justice for the killing of its spokesperson Sharif Osman Hadi and the fulfilment of its four-point demand.

Leaders and activists of the platform joined the march, which started around 11:30am.

According to organisers, the march set off from Shahbagh and is scheduled to pass through Science Lab–City College, Mohammadpur Tin Rasta Mor, Rayerbazar Boddhyabhumi, Mirpur-10, Uttara, Bashundhara, Badda, Rampura and Jatrabari, before returning to Shahbagh in the evening.

Participants said they joined the program to demand justice for Hadi’s murder, questioning why no progress has been made so far. They demanded that all those involved in the killing be brought to trial before the upcoming elections.

During the march, demonstrators were seen chanting various slogans, including: “We will not let Hadi’s blood go in vain,” “Why is the murderer free while my brother lies in the grave,” and “Red and green flag, the flag of Inqilab—you can see Hadi.”

Leaders and activists took part in the march on 10 pickup vans.

Inqilab Manch’s four-point demands

  1. All those involved in the murder — including the killer, planners, accomplices, escapees and those who sheltered them — must be brought to justice within the next 24 days.

  2. Work permits of all Indian nationals residing in Bangladesh must be cancelled.

  3. If India refuses to repatriate alleged killers taking refuge there, a case must be filed against India at the International Court of Justice.

  4. Alleged “fascist accomplices” within the Directorate General of Forces Intelligence must be identified, arrested and brought to justice.
