Repair work to reinstall the metro rail bearing pad began shortly after a pedestrian was killed when the pad fell near Farmgate station on Sunday afternoon.
The restoration efforts started around 3pm, with Japanese and Bangladeshi engineers using a crane to carry out the installation.
A large crowd of onlookers remained gathered at the site as the repair work continued.
Earlier, around 12:30pm, a pedestrian was fatally struck by a fallen metro rail bearing pad beneath the Farmgate station in the capital.
