The second day of the first phase of the Bishwa Ijtema at Tongi’s Turag is underway on Saturday, with thousands of devotees engaged in prayers and religious activities.
The sermon began after Fajr prayers, with discussions focusing on faith, actions, morality, and the Kalima in light of the Quran and Hadith.
According to Tabligh Jamaat Bangladesh’s Shura-e-Nizam (Media Coordinator) Habibullah Raihan, Maulana Khurshid Sahib of Pakistan is delivering the sermon, which is being translated into Bangla by Maulana Obaidur Rahman.
At 10am, a Khitay Khitay Talim session will take place. As part of two special programs, Maulana Ibrahim Dewla from India will deliver a speech to the Ulama, while Maulana Akbar Sharif from India will address madrasa students (Talabad) from the prayer pulpit.
Later in the day, Maulana Ismail Godhra from India will speak after Zuhr prayers, followed by Maulana Zuhair from India after Asr.
A session on dowry-free marriages will also be conducted.
The day’s sermons will conclude with Maulana Ibrahim Dewla from India addressing the gathering after Maghrib prayers.
On Sunday, Maulana Abdur Rahman of India will deliver a speech after Fajr, while Maulana Ibrahim Dewla will deliver a sermon before the final prayer, which will be led by Maulana Zubair of Bangladesh.
Meanwhile, Yakub Ali, 60, a participant from Raghabpur village in Bahubal upazila, Habiganj, passed away at midnight on Friday.
He was staying at Khitta No. 48 in the Ijtema ground when he experienced chest pain.
His companions rushed him to Tongi Government Hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
