Chief Justice Dr Syed Refaat Ahmed has expressed profound grief over the death of Civil Aviation and Tourism Adviser AF Hassan Ariff.
The news was conveyed in a statement released by the Supreme Court’s Public Relations Officer, Md Shafiqul Islam, on Friday.
Hasan Arif passed away at 3:30pm at the age of 83, at Labaid Hospital in the capital on Friday.
In his condolence message, Chief Justice Dr Syed Refaat Ahmed extended his deepest sympathies to the bereaved family, acknowledging the significant contributions of the late adviser to the nation.
On August 8, Hassan Ariff was appointed as an adviser to the interim government, overseeing the Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives, and the Ministry of Land.
He was later assigned responsibilities for the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism.
A senior lawyer in the Supreme Court, Hassan Ariff, began his legal career in 1970.
He served as the attorney general from October 2001 to April 2005 and as the legal adviser to the caretaker government from 2008 to January 2009.
