A clash erupted between students of Dhaka College and City College at Dhaka’s Science Lab intersection on Wednesday, disrupting traffic in the area.
The skirmish began around 2:30pm and continued until 3:30pm, leaving the surrounding roads gridlocked.
City College resumed classes on Wednesday following a brief closure due to previous student protests.
Meanwhile, Dhaka College students staged a protest demanding the resignation of certain assistant teachers accused of autocratic behaviour.
Tensions escalated when some Dhaka College students reportedly vandalized a bus in the Science Lab area around noon. This led to an altercation with City College students, culminating in a full-blown clash.
Upon receiving news of the clash, police and other law enforcement personnel arrived at the scene to restore order. Despite their efforts, the situation remained volatile for about an hour as students spread across the area, complicating traffic management.
