Several passengers injured as bus collides with metro rail pillar

A Safety Paribahan bus lost control and collided with pillar number 74 of the metro rail while travelling from Mirpur-10 to Agargaon.

Several passengers onboard the bus sustained injuries in the accident, and the water drainage pipe of the metro station was damaged.

The driver and helper fled the scene immediately after the incident.

The collision occurred in front of the Bangladesh Air Force Museum in Agargaon around 2pm on Tuesday, as confirmed by Assistant Police Commissioner of Traffic, Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Zone, Md Tarek Sekander.

Around 10 passengers were injured in the accident, with some in critical condition being rushed to Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital, according to Kafrul Police.

Upon receiving reports of the accident, the patrol team from Kafrul police station promptly arrived at the scene.

Kafrul police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md Farukul Alam confirmed the incident, adding: "The bus has been seized."
