Detained woman escapes police custody in Dhaka

A woman detained in a drug dealing case escaped from police custody at Adabar police station in Dhaka in the early hours of Saturday. 

The escaped accused’s name is Laboni Aktar, 20. 

Adabar police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mahbubur Rahman confirmed the matter. He said: “We are conducting an operation to apprehend her as soon as possible.”

After the woman's arrest, Adabar police station Sub-Inspector (SI) Ibrahim filed a case against her under the Drug Control Act as a plaintiff. The number of case is 26. 

The woman was arrested from the Shekhertek area with 20 pieces of yaba pills on Friday under the leadership of Sub-Inspector (SI) Ibrahim and Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Masum Ali of Adabar police station. 

The accused was kept in police custody at night to be sent to court the next day. When the police looked for her in the morning to take her to the court, she was nowhere to be found. 

Laboni managed to escape from the police station, even though there were several CCTV cameras and duty officials there.
