Dhaka's rail link with parts of Bangladesh snaps as train derails in Tejgaon

The railway operation between Dhaka and most parts of Bangladesh has been suspended after a train derailed near Tejgaon station on Thursday evening. 

The incident took place at around 5pm. Some passengers have been reportedly injured in the incident. 

A Dhaka-bound Titas train hit a crane which was working for the Dhaka Elevated Expressway project. The engine and one compartment of the train derailed. 

Officials at the railway station said they have started rescue operations.
