BNP Standing Committee member Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury and media cell convener Zahir Uddin Swapan have been sent to jail in a case filed over beating a policeman to death in connection with the vandalism of BNP's October 28 general meeting.
After the six-day remand on Thursday, the investigation officer of the case, DB Police Inspector Tariqul Islam, produced the accused in the court and applied for detention in jail.
After the hearing Thursday afternoon, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md Rashidul Alam's court ordered to send them to jail.
A Dhaka court on November 3 placed the duo on six-day remand each in a case lodged over murder of police constable Amirul Islam Pervej on October 28.
