Two central Chhatra League leaders have accused police officers, led by Dhaka Metropolitan Police Ramna Division Additional Deputy Commissioner Harun Or Rashid, of beating them up inside Shahbagh police station in the capital late Saturday.
A press conference took place in this regard on Sunday where the chief of the Detective Branch (DB) of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), Harun-or-Rashid, said the matter would be investigated.
The injured are – Chhatra League Central Organizing Secretary and Fazlul Haque Hall President Anwar Hossain Nayeem and Chhatra League Central Science Affairs Secretary and DHA Shahidullah Hall General Secretary Sharif Ahmed Munim.
They were rescued with serious injuries and admitted to a private hospital.
The victims and their classmates alleged that Harun Or Rashid, ADC of DMP Ramna Division, took them to the police station and beat them up. Even after the leader of Chhatra League introduced himself, 10-15 policemen along with Harun assaulted them. Meanwhile, Nayeem's condition is critical. His face was badly bruised.

At that time, the husband of the female officer went there with the two leaders of Chhatra League's central committee. The husband of the female officer is also a BSC cadre. ADC Harun had an argument with him. At one point, it turned into a fight. Because of this, the police were called and the two leaders were tortured in the police station.
