Arafat: We are soldiers of Bangabandhu, workers of PM Hasina

Newly elected Dhaka-17 MP Mohammad Ali Arafat on Thursday said that every leader and activist of the ruling Awami League are soldiers of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and dedicated workers of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

The MP made this remark while exchanging views with the local Awami League leaders during the inauguration of a water pump and road development project at the Karail Adarsha Nagar area in the capital.

Mohammad A Arafat highlighted that residents in Karail Adarsha Nagar area have long faced issues with drinking water.

“Therefore, right after I was elected as an MP, I immediately advocated for the installation of this water pump,” he said.

“Besides, the condition of the roads inside the shanty towns is very bad. These roads will be renovated gradually,” he added.

Arafat further stated that the Bangladesh Awami League believes in politics that empowers the common people.

Arafat later accused the opposition of practicing politics that opposed freedom and Bangladesh, and of being dishonest.

"They do not believe in the empowerment of the masses. The falsehoods spread by BNP-Jamaat in politics must be countered with truth. It is your duty," he urged.

“The politics of murder, arson, militancy and bombings must be removed forever from the soil of Bangla,” Arafat called upon the leaders.

"We need to uplift ourselves as responsible citizens. Inspired by patriotism, we must build our workforce on the ideals of Bangabandhu,” he said.

“There is no alternative to intellectual politics, free-thinking, and skilled manpower for the development-driven Bangladesh created by Sheikh Hasina," he added.
