Eid journey: No traffic pressure on Dhaka-Aricha, Nabinagar-Chandra highways

People have started leaving Dhaka to celebrate Eid-ul-Azha with their families. However, Savar highways are not yet crowded with vehicles or passengers since morning.

As of 10am on Monday, vehicles were running normally on the Dhaka-Aricha and Nabinagar-Chandra highways.

Officials said that highway police, district police and Dhaka road department are working jointly to reduce the suffering of passengers during the Eid journey.

Police Sergeant Mofizur Rahman of Dhaka District Traffic North working at Savar bus stand said that the situation on the road was normal since last two days.

“Our IGP had emphasized on keeping traffic normal. So far, the road condition is normal. There is a chance of pressure from vehicles in the afternoon. We are active on the road and we hope the passengers can return home without suffering,” he added.

Savar Highway police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Azizul Haque said that additional policemen have been deployed on the highway in view of Eid journey.
