Progress in work of metro rail Motijheel-Kamalapur section stands at 5.5%

The progress of metro rail work on Motijheel to Kamalapur section is around 5.5% complete, said MAN Siddique, managing director of Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL).

Metro rail authorities hope to inaugurate this section in June 2025.

He said this at a seminar organized at the Carnival Hall of Bangabandhu International Conference Centre on Sunday.

MAN Siddique said: “The progress of work on the Uttara to Motijheel section of MRT Line-6 is 94.76%. The progress of Agargaon to Motijheel section is 94.32%. Under the direction of the prime minister, the work of Motijheel to Kamalapur section is going on. The work progress of this part has been completed by 5.37%.”

He said: “We hope to inaugurate Motijheel to Kamalapur section in June 2025. The integrated progress of procurement of electronic and mechanical systems and rolling stock (railcoach) and depot equipment has been 89.71%.”

The managing director of metro rail also said that the Motijheel section from Agargaon will be inaugurated in December this year.
